A partnership that goes beyond innovation: It’s a promise to patients, families, and healthcare providers that the future of rare disease management will be precise, proactive, and collaborative.
On August 7, 2025, Compass Bioinformatics co-hosted a milestone event with Taipei Medical University’s Digital Health Translational (DHT) Industry-Academic Alliance. Joined by the Ministry of Health and Welfare Shuang-Ho Hospital Rare Disease Centre, this forum marked the launch of a three-way partnership aimed at advancing precision medicine, genetic testing, and actionable clinical strategies for inherited diseases.
Hosted at the Biodesign Centre of TMU’s BioMed Tech Building, the event brought together over 50 leading medical professionals, showcasing how digital health and clinical diagnostics are converging to unlock new possibilities in managing rare and inherited diseases. Prof. Jack Li (李友專) shared an inspiring vision of a digitized healthcare future, while Dr. Yung-Ting Kuo (郭雲鼎), Head of Pediatrics, highlighted the latest advances in treatment and patient care.
Taiwan’s forward-thinking stance—being the 5th country worldwide to embed rare disease protections into law—sets a strong foundation for this collaboration. It emphasizes the urgency of uniting resources and expertise to drive both research and real-world impact faster and farther together.
Building on this momentum, the InheriNext® solution (tested in over 10,000 analyses) was spotlighted. With a sensitivity of 98.6% in identifying disease-causing variants, this platform demonstrates the power of genetic analysis software and bioinformatics tools in supporting clinical decision-making. Looking ahead, the partnership aims to leverage big data and polygenic risk scores (PRS) to equip clinicians with advanced clinical decision support systems (CDSS) that can predict, prevent, and personalize patient care like never before.
This event underscores Compass Bioinformatics’ commitment to working closely with clinicians and key partners on a shared journey toward smarter, data-driven healthcare for all.
